About The Artist: BASILE

Giovanni Basile graduated in Astronautical & Aeronautical Engineering at the University of Illinois. During his college years, he acquired great knowledge in Painting and Design. Soon after graduation, Basile traveled to Milan where he continued his studies at the Design Institute ARS-Sutoria. His artistic passion and style was shaped in Venice in 1986, while visiting the exhibition “Futurismo & Futurismi” at the Palazzo Grazzi.

For the next 10 years Basile worked in the field of Industrial Design, as Creative Director for Basile Industrial Design, focusing on Consumer Product Designs, Graphic Design and Brand Identity but continuing his performance as a painter inspired by Picasso and the Futurismo  artistic movement.

In 1994, along with his artistic career, Basile joined The Timken Company as a  Sales and Marketing Executive to manage  15 countries in Latin America.

From 2001 to 2003, Basile worked on Neo-Figurative Expressionism with Master Roberto Gonzalez in the School of Fine Arts “Cristobal Rojas” in Caracas and with Venezuelan Master Artist Diego Barboza.

From 2004 to present, Basile has developed new artistic projects. His artwork establishes a dialogue with Picasso and neo-pop French artist Nikki de Saint-Phalle. His aerial installations connect with Miro’s void and simplicity, Calder's mobile sculptures and Gego's intertwining web installations. His studio is located in Boca Raton. FL. USA.
